WordPress is one of the most popular Content Management Systems in the world. Since a  lot of our clients (and other people around the world) use it to update their blog or websites, we a put together a quick list of tips.

Formatting Tips

1. Always set a category

2. Do not copy and paste post and page titles.

If there are any special characters (Including extra wide -‘s (en or em dashes)), that post or pages link may break.

3. Avoid copying and pasting pre-formatted text (Text from Word).

It is best to copy and paste into Notepad or http://entitifier.sambowler.com/ first, then copy and paste that text into WordPress.

4. Keep paragraphs short on the web (An average of 2 to 3 sentences).

There have been studies that have shown some users will completely ignore large paragraphs.

5. Break ideas up into multiple headings (Using H2, H3, H4 tags).

This will not only improve scan-ability for the user, but will also help Google determine what the page is all about.
