Overview

The maintenance fixes and enhancements features among them an incompatibility issue with the visual editor when being used in Chrome. Personally being a Chrome user I look forward to this update, (others in the office use Firefox) because I have noticed a few issues with visual editor since 4.7 release, including: click to initialize not initializing anything if the page wasn’t completely loaded, sometimes the “add media” and extra buttons beside it would not load, content disappearing when switching between visual and text editor, among others. Other fixes include compatibility issues with Internet Explorer, various WordPress tools, updated TinyMCE and more. Read the list of changes for everything.

The Importance of Keeping WordPress Updated

This update, like any other, always brings to mind the importance of keeping WordPress updated. Granted this is not a security fix so there is no need to worry about vulnerabilities in your website. But these bug fixes and feature improvement help to keep your workflow optimized. I know there were a few times I got off track because I was investigating visual editor issues. Not anymore!
