The latest major update for WordPress has been released and with it some great new features to speed up your workflow.
Nicknamed “Pepper”, in honor of jazz baritone saxophonist Park Frederick “Pepper” Adams III, WordPress 4.6 has new features that help you get your tasks done quicker. Other features help to improve how we work inside WordPress when writing content or custom coding queries.
Installing, updating and deleting plugins and themes is now even easier and you don’t have to load a new page every time. Installing and activating a plugin or theme now takes place all on the same page, streamlining the process, and making it quicker and easier.
WordPress is saying goodbye to Open Sans and hello to native fonts for the WordPress dashboard. This new feature speeds up loading times because it uses a font you already have!
When adding a link inside the content editor, WordPress will automatically check, and let you know if the link is broken! This is a fantastic feature that will help anyone, with any WordPress skill set, because it is so basic yet incredibly useful.
Content recovery has been improved to constantly save your content to the browser while you are typing. This means no content losses and rewrites after a computer failure, browser crash or anything else that would interrupt your content writing.
WordPress released a video with Version 4.6 to further explain some of the new features. Check it out!
